I just signed up. What should I do first?

Add your real business name, ask your AI a question, then connect one channel so a real customer can actually reach it.

There is a deliberate order to the first few things worth doing, and it is built around one idea: see it work before you configure it further.

The order that works best

  1. Add your real business name, if you have not already, under Settings, then General. Everything after this uses that name.
  2. Ask your AI a question in AI Assistant settings and watch it answer. This is the fastest way to feel whether it is working, before you have connected anything customer-facing. See How do I see my AI actually answer a question?
  3. Connect a channel, website chat is the fastest to set up if you already have a site, so a real customer has a way to reach it.
  4. Add your business knowledge, a few FAQs or your services, so answers sound like your business rather than a generic one.
  5. Invite a teammate, only if you share the inbox with anyone.

This is the same order your dashboard checklist follows, so if you would rather just work down that list one item at a time, that works too. See What is the checklist on my dashboard, and do I have to finish it?

Why this order, and not configuring everything first

Connecting a channel before you have seen the AI answer anything means you find out it needs work at the same moment a real customer does. Testing it first, on your own, costs you nothing and catches the obvious gaps early.
