What is the checklist on my dashboard, and do I have to finish it?
A short list of the things worth doing next. Nothing on it blocks you, and it disappears once the required steps are done.
Once you have finished the three setup screens, your dashboard shows a short checklist of the things worth doing next. Every item on it is something you can do yourself, in any order, and nothing on it is a requirement to keep using your account.
What is on it
- Add your business name. Only shown while your account still has a stand-in name on it. It disappears for good once you add the real one.
- Account created. Already ticked off, this one just confirms you are in.
- Ask your AI a question. Ask it something about your business and watch it answer, see How do I see my AI actually answer a question?
- Connect a channel. Turn on Website Chat, SMS, WhatsApp, Voice AI or a softphone, so a real customer can actually reach your assistant.
- Add your business knowledge. Add a few FAQs or your services, so the answers sound like you rather than a generic search engine.
- Have your first customer conversation. Ticks itself off the moment a real customer's message shows up in your inbox.
- Invite a teammate. Optional, only worth doing if you share the work with anyone.
Each item shows roughly how many minutes it takes, and clicking it takes you straight to the real screen where you do the work, never a separate wizard.
Hiding it and bringing it back
If you would rather not see the checklist, you can dismiss it. It belongs to the whole account, not just to you: if you hide it, everyone else on your team sees it hidden too, and there is a Resume setup control on your dashboard to bring it back whenever anyone wants to.
When it disappears for good
The checklist, and the Finish setup item in your sidebar, both go away automatically once every required item is done. Invite a teammate is optional and is never counted against you, a business with one owner and no staff can finish the checklist without ever using it.
