How do I cancel, and what happens to my data afterwards?

Cancel from Manage in Stripe on your Billing page. Your plan runs until the end of the period you already paid for, then your inboxes are archived, your phone numbers are held for a short while, and your data is kept, not deleted.

Cancelling is done inside Stripe rather than inside Peakify, so the record of it sits with the same people who took your payment. Your plan keeps working right up to the end of the period you have already paid for, nothing stops the moment you press the button.

Cancel

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Press Manage in Stripe.
  3. Cancel your subscription from there.

Your account stays exactly as it is until the end of your current billing period. If you change your mind before then, reopen the same Stripe portal and resume it, or choose a new plan from How do I change my plan?, which also undoes a scheduled cancellation.

What happens once the period actually ends

  • Your inboxes are archived, not deleted. They stop routing new messages, but every past conversation stays exactly as it was, this is the same underlying account described in Where does my data live, and how do I get it deleted?, cancelling on its own does not delete anything.
  • Your phone numbers are held for a short while, not released immediately, in case you come back. How long depends on a setting we control, so no fixed number of days is promised here, if you reactivate inside that window and the number is still available, it is restored automatically. Once the hold window passes, a held number is genuinely gone and cannot be brought back.
  • Any AI voice assistant, softphone lines, and their own connections are switched off rather than left running and costing money on an account that is no longer billing.
  • Automatic top-ups are turned off, so nothing keeps drawing from a card you may have removed.
  • Scheduled messages that have not gone out yet are paused, not sent and not silently dropped.
  • Any promotional credit on the account is forfeited.
  • You get an email confirming the cancellation and explaining what to expect if you come back.

Your contacts, conversation history, call recordings and everything else about your organization stay in place. If you want your own copy of your data, or you want it deleted rather than kept, that is a separate step, see Where does my data live, and how do I get it deleted?

Coming back

Pick a plan again from your Billing page and pay, the same way you would change plan. Everything that was archived rather than released comes back with it: your inboxes reactivate and your conversation history is exactly as you left it. A phone number is only restored if it was still inside its hold window and still available, once that window has passed it is gone for good and you would pick a new one instead.
