How do I change my plan?

Pick a new plan, contact volume or billing interval from Change plan, see exactly what it costs and when it takes effect, then confirm. Nothing is charged until you do.

You can change your plan, how many monthly contacts you are priced for, and whether you are billed monthly or yearly, all from one screen. Only your account's administrator can do this.

Change plan

  1. Go to Billing, then press Change plan.
  2. If your plan has a monthly-contacts allowance, use How many contacts do you engage each month? to price the cards at your real volume, this only changes the price shown for plans that scale with contacts.
  3. Press Choose plan on the tier you want.
  4. Read the confirmation screen. It states exactly what changes, what you would pay and when, in plain terms for your specific situation.
  5. Press Confirm change.

When it actually takes effect, and what you pay

This depends on what kind of change you are making, and the confirmation screen always tells you which applies before you confirm anything:

  • While you are still on a trial, plan changes are free and take effect straight away. They simply set what you will be charged when your trial ends, see How do I go live?
  • Moving up in contact volume starts today. You are charged the difference for the rest of this billing period right away, and the higher volume is available immediately. There is no refund for moving back down later, that change waits for your next renewal instead.
  • Every other change (a different plan tier, at the same or lower volume) waits for your next billing period. You are not charged today, and there is no extra line on your next invoice for it.
  • Switching to yearly billing starts today: you are charged for the year now, less credit for the days of this month you have already paid for, and you then renew once a year.
  • Switching from yearly back to monthly happens at your yearly renewal date, not immediately, your yearly plan keeps running until then and monthly billing starts from that date.

If a payment is outstanding

Plan changes are blocked until an overdue payment clears. Resolve it under Manage in Stripe on your Billing page first, then come back and try again.

If you already cancelled

If your subscription is set to end at the close of this period, choosing a new plan here undoes that scheduled cancellation and keeps your account active on the new plan instead.
