Which safety rules does my kind of business get?
Some kinds of business get extra platform rules their AI always follows, such as no immigration advice for an education consultant or no allergy promises for a restaurant. Here is each one and why.
Every business's AI follows the same set of platform rules, such as never claiming to be a person and never giving medical, legal or tax advice. A few kinds of business also get one or two extra rules, because their trade has something it must never promise or advise on. Peakify picks them from the kind of business you chose at setup. You do not need to turn anything on.
The extra rules, by kind of business
- Education and admissions consulting, and recruitment and study abroad: the AI never gives immigration, visa or study permit advice, and never says whether an application will be approved. In Canada only a licensed immigration consultant or a lawyer may advise on an application. It also never promises admission, a test score, a scholarship or a visa, and never writes or rewrites a student's essay or personal statement, which professional consulting standards rule out.
- Real estate and automotive: the AI never quotes interest rates, monthly payments, down payments, loan or lease terms, or the chance of approval. Stating a payment figure brings legal disclosure duties that a chat reply cannot meet, so it passes those questions to your finance or mortgage professional.
- Real estate only: before booking a home showing or tour for a buyer, the AI asks whether they have signed a written buyer agreement with you. If they have not, it says your agent will go over one with them first and offers to connect them, instead of booking the tour. Agents now need that agreement in place before touring a home with a buyer.
- Restaurants, cafes, hotels and other hospitality: the AI never promises that food is free of an allergen or safe for an allergy. It shares only the ingredients you have published and says cross-contact can happen in a kitchen, because it cannot see how your kitchen works.
- Home services, including pest control: the AI never gives instructions for applying pesticides or heat treating a home beyond what you have published. It tells people to follow the product label and your written instructions, and never to heat a home with a propane or fuel-burning heater, which is a known fire risk.
- Healthcare: the AI never says whether insurance or a benefits plan will cover a treatment, and never assesses symptoms. It offers to connect the person with your clinic team or to book a visit instead.
- Churches and ministries: the AI may talk about what your church believes and teaches, answering only from your own knowledge base and published material. For prayer, spiritual counsel or a question your material does not cover, it offers to connect the person with your team. Every other business's AI stays away from religion altogether. Politics and controversial social topics stay off limits for everyone.
Any other kind of business gets the standard platform rules only.
Healthcare starts on Strict
A new healthcare business starts with How strict should it be? set to Strict, so the AI sticks to the topics you list and turns anything else away. Every other business starts on Balanced. You can change it any time on the AI Assistant page, under Topics & Rules.
Where you see them
These rules show in your never-say list on the AI Assistant page, under Topics & Rules, marked Platform rule, above your own rules. You cannot edit or remove them.
If you change your kind of business
Change it in Settings, General. The rules change with it on the AI's very next reply on web chat, text, WhatsApp and email. Your phone assistant is updated too when you save. If you were set up before one of these rules was added, your phone assistant picks the new rule up once Peakify pushes the updated instructions to it.

More in Teaching the AI
The other guides people read alongside this one.
- What is my knowledge base, and why does the AI need it?
Your knowledge base is your own business information, services, prices, hours and policies, that teaches your AI assistant how to answer your customers. It is not our help articles.
- How do I add something to my knowledge base by hand?
Write an entry directly, or paste text and let AI turn it into organized entries for you to review before saving.
- How do I bring in everything from my website?
Peakify reads your public pages and turns them into knowledge base entries automatically, and checks your site again once a week on its own.
- How do I upload a document to my knowledge base?
Drop in a PDF, Word doc, text or markdown file, up to five at a time, and review the entries before they save.
