How do I bring in everything from my website?

Peakify reads your public pages and turns them into knowledge base entries automatically, and checks your site again once a week on its own.

If you already have a website, importing it is the fastest way to fill your knowledge base. Peakify reads your public pages, pulls out the actual article text, and saves them as entries, filed automatically under services, pricing, FAQ, policies or about. This needs your organization's admin, depending on your account.

Import your website

  1. Add your website address first, if you have not already, under Settings, then Organization.
  2. Go to Knowledge Base and click Import from Website.
  3. Click Start crawl. Peakify reads up to 50 pages of your site, with a five-minute cap. You can close the window, it keeps running in the background and is ready when you come back.
  4. When it finishes, you see how many pages were added or updated.

What it does and does not touch

  • It honors your site's robots.txt and skips PDFs, images and other binary files.
  • Pages that have not changed since the last check are left alone, no duplicate entries pile up.
  • Anything you have written or edited yourself is never overwritten by a crawl.
  • It runs again automatically once a week, so your knowledge base keeps pace with your site without you doing anything. Use Check for updates any time you do not want to wait for that.

If your site returns nothing, or the import fails

If Peakify cannot read a single page, it says so plainly rather than claiming nothing changed. There are two different reasons this happens, and the message tells you which one applies:

  • Something went wrong on our side. Try again in a few minutes, if it keeps happening, email support and we will look into it.
  • We genuinely could not read your site. The most common causes are a service like Cloudflare blocking automated readers, or a site that only shows its content after JavaScript runs, which our reader does not execute. When this happens, use Format With AI or Upload a document instead, paste or upload the same content directly and it is added the same way a crawl would add it. See How do I add something to my knowledge base by hand? and How do I upload a document to my knowledge base?

A run that reads your site and finds nothing has changed is not a failure, it just means your knowledge base is already up to date.

Limits

Up to 50 pages per run, a five-minute cap, and 5 imports per hour for your organization, shared with Format With AI. If you hit the hourly limit, wait and try again.
