How do I mark a job done?

Open the customer, click the Jobs tab, and mark the work finished. That is the moment any follow up you have set up runs.

When the work is finished, tell Peakify. That is the moment any follow up you have set up runs: a thank you text, a task for tomorrow, or an ask for a review. Nothing runs on a clock, so a customer who never turned up is never treated as finished work.

Mark a job done

  1. Open Contacts and click the customer.
  2. Click the Jobs tab.
  3. If the work was booked in Peakify, find it in the list and click Mark done.
  4. If it was booked over the phone and is not in the list, click "Mark a job done" at the top right. That records the work against this customer without needing a booking first.

Either way the job gets a Done badge straight away, and anything set to run after a job is marked done is queued at that moment. Messages go out within a few minutes, or later if the automation has a delay set on it.

Where to find it

The Jobs tab sits on the customer's record, next to Documents and Payments. Depending on your account you may not see it: it is part of Team management, so it is hidden for organizations that do not have that turned on.

If you marked the wrong one

Click Undo on the job. Two things happen:

  • Any follow up still waiting to go out is cancelled, so nobody is asked to review work that did not happen.
  • A job you recorded by hand is removed completely. A job that came from a real booking goes back to being booked, so it stays on the calendar.

Undo only stops messages that have not gone yet. Once a message has been sent it cannot be pulled back.

A booking that is already marked done cannot be moved or cancelled, by you or by the customer using the link in their confirmation email. Undo it first if the job needs to change.

When nothing is sent

The top of the Jobs tab tells you what will happen before you press anything. If it says nothing is set to run, marking the job done records the work and sends the customer nothing. To change that, ask whoever manages your account to add a "Job marked done" automation under Team management, then Setup, then Automations, and see How do I ask customers for a review automatically?

A customer who has unsubscribed is skipped, the same as with every other automatic message. Marking the same customer's work done twice in one day still only asks them for one review.

Who can do this

Anyone on your team who can open a customer's record can mark their job done. Building the automation that runs afterwards is an admin job.
