Why are my texts not arriving?

Check the reason shown on the message itself first, most causes are plain-language and self-explanatory once you see them.

A text you sent from Peakify, either a reply from your inbox or a broadcast, is not reaching the customer. Every outbound text carries its own delivery reason, once you know where to look these are usually self-explanatory.

Check these first

  1. Read the delivery status on the message itself. In your inbox, a reply's delivery status shows inline with the message. For a broadcast, open it under Recent broadcasts to see a full per-recipient breakdown, see How do I check if my broadcast text actually sent, or stop one that's still going out? The reason shown is real evidence pulled from the carrier, not a guess, and it is almost always one of the cases below.
  2. The contact has no phone number, or opted out. If a contact texted STOP at any point, or a number was never on file, nothing goes out to them until they text START back themselves, see What happens when a customer texts STOP, and can I text them again? There is no override for this from your side, on purpose.
  3. It landed inside quiet hours. Texts sent late at night in the recipient's own local time are held back rather than sent overnight, and are not retried automatically, see What happens when a customer texts STOP, and can I text them again? for exactly when those hours are. If that is what happened, send it again during the day.
  4. You are texting a US number and have not finished registering. US carriers require a one-time registration before texts to US numbers will deliver, Canadian-only sending needs none of this. See Why am I being asked to verify or register before I can text? to check where your registration stands.
  5. The carrier itself rejected it. Sometimes the reason shown is a carrier-side code, an unreachable or disconnected number is the most common one. That is not something on our side to fix, the number itself cannot currently receive texts.

If the reason shown does not explain it

If a message shows as sent or delivered but the customer genuinely says they never got it, or the reason shown does not make sense to you, that is something only we can dig into on the carrier side. Open Help in your sidebar and email us which conversation or broadcast it was, and roughly when you sent it.
