How do I set the list of documents my team can request from a client?
Add each kind of document your team might need, like a passport or a signed contract, so it shows up as an option when requesting documents.
Document types are the checklist your team picks from when asking a client for paperwork, things like a passport, a signed contract, or proof of address.
Add one
- Open Team management, then Setup, then the Document types tab.
- Type a short internal key (like
passport) and a label (like "Passport"), and optionally a description explaining what counts. - Click "Add document type". It's available immediately as an option anywhere your team requests documents from a client.
Turn one off or delete it
Click the Active/Inactive button on a document type to hide it from future requests without losing it. Click the trash icon to delete it outright; any request that already used it keeps its own record of what was asked for, so deleting a type never changes a request already sent.
Who can do this
Managing document types needs an organization admin and an account with Team management turned on.

More in Team management: setting it up
The other guides people read alongside this one.
- How do I turn on Team management, and what does it actually add?
Team management adds a shared workspace for your staff: tasks, time tracking, schedules and a queue of work to hand out. Whether it's on for your account depends on your plan.
- What's the difference between a "pipeline" and the "customer journey"?
A pipeline is the general idea of stages a contact moves through. The customer journey is one specific, ready-made pipeline that also creates tasks automatically and marks when a lead becomes a customer.
- How do I set up a pipeline for how my customers move through my business?
Create a pipeline, add the stages your work actually goes through, and give each stage a task template so your team knows what to do when a contact reaches it.
- How do I set up the ready-made customer journey?
Install the standard journey with one click, or have it drafted around your own business first. Either way you see exactly how many customers and tasks it creates before you confirm.
