How do I connect the Meet Companion extension to my account?

Install the Chrome extension, click Connect on the Meet Companion settings page, and it starts sending your Google Meet transcripts here.

Meet Companion connects to your account per person, not per organization. Anyone on your team who takes customer calls over Google Meet installs and connects their own copy.

Install and connect

  1. Go to Settings, then Meet Companion (or click Meet Companion from the Meetings page).
  2. Click "Install the extension" to open its Chrome Web Store listing, and install it in your browser.
  3. Back on the Meet Companion settings page, click Connect. This hands your current Peakify login to the extension directly, nothing about the connection is stored on our side.
  4. Once it says "Connected", the extension can send transcripts here whenever you finish a Google Meet call.

Tell whoever is on the call with you that it is being transcribed. Peakify only ever captures what Google Meet's own captions pick up, never audio or video.

If Connect does not work

  • "We couldn't find the Meet Companion extension in this browser": install it first (step 2 above), then come back and click Connect again.
  • "We couldn't reach the extension": make sure it is actually installed and enabled in this browser, then try Connect again.
  • "Not available yet" shown instead of an install button: Meet Companion is not set up for your workspace yet. Check back later.

Disconnecting

There is no Disconnect button on this settings page, that is deliberate: the extension holds its own copy of your session, so disconnecting is done from the extension itself, from its own popup in your browser toolbar.
