What is the audit log, and what does it record?

A running record of security-relevant changes on your account, who did what and when, that you can filter, page through and export as a spreadsheet.

The audit log is a chronological record of changes made on your account, things like a teammate being invited, removed or having their role changed, so you always have a plain answer to "who did that, and when." Only account administrators can see it.

Open and read it

  1. Go to Settings, then the Security & data tab, then Audit log.
  2. Each row shows when it happened, what kind of event it was, who did it, or System if nothing was tied to a specific person, and a Details link you can expand for the raw information behind that entry.
  3. Press Load more at the bottom to keep paging back through older entries.

Filter and export

Type an event type into the filter box and press the button to narrow the list to just that kind of change. Press Export CSV to download either the filtered list or the full log as a spreadsheet, useful for keeping your own records or for reviewing everything a particular change touched.

If you cannot find something

The audit log only records the kinds of changes it is built to track, mainly account, team and security actions, it is not a full history of every message or conversation, those live in your inbox instead. If you are looking for something specific and cannot find it here, chat with us and we can help track it down.
